Steps to detect and report Fire Ants-:

1 Check your property for nests

Look for ant nests that appear as mounds or flat patches of loose sifted soil with no obvious entry or exit holes.

2 Check for ants with these features

Fire Ants are smaller than the familiar black ants you see around your home before rain.
They are:

• copper brown in colour with a darker abdomen
• quite small, measuring 2-6mm in size
• found in a variety of sources in the one nest

3 Report suspect ants

Take a photo of the nest and ants and report them to fireants.org.au or call 13 25 23
